The Story So Far

A Community Effort from the Heart of Bembridge
Steyne Park has long been Bembridge’s green heart, but time and weather have taken their toll. What began as small discussions about maintenance has evolved into a regeneration plan that will bring together local clubs, families, environmental groups and expanded to benefit our surrounding neighbourhoods.
Each stage of the proposals, from pitch design to accessibility, has been guided by one simple idea: a park that truly serves its people.

You Said, We Propose — Shaping Steyne Park Together
Last year, over 300 residents shared their thoughts on how Steyne Park could be improved.
From better play areas to all-weather pitches, your feedback has directly shaped the regeneration plans now being developed.
Here’s how your ideas are being turned into action:
You Said
- We need an all-weather football pitch so games aren’t cancelled every winter.”
- “The children’s play area needs updating for different ages — and safer layouts.”
- “More shade, benches and accessible paths for everyone to enjoy.”
- “The park should feel greener and more welcoming, with trees and planting.”
- “The toilets and changing rooms are outdated and need modernising.”

We Propose
"
“Steyne Park has always been at the heart of Bembridge life. What makes this regeneration special is that it’s built entirely on what local people have told us, real ideas, real priorities, and a shared belief in making this space better for everyone.”
